So what do you / did you think? For those of you that saw the Heavy Mettle Exhibition, this years iteration of the Motorcycles as Art series at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, let me know what you thought.

So how did the fun lovin' truck drivin' Brit Karen Moore end up building this beautiful bike in Wichita, KS? Well, I can tell you, she didn’t take a non-stop jet to get there!

Sugar Bear, the legend who has said, "If it ain’t long, it’s wrong" has a very fitting logo of a big red heart with wings.

This image of Dean Bordigioni in the Motorcycle Cannonball shows the determination that went into riding coast to coast on a single-cylinder ~7hp single-speed 1914 Harley-Davidson without missing a single mile, and taking the first place trophy home at the end.

Kermitts was a great way-point where we'd stop for a cold one and some chile while riding a mountain loop in the Rockies NW of Denver.

It’s summer and it’s hot, and yes, we break down on the side of the road.

Of course, we paid tribute to Jessi Combson to kick off last nights “Women in Custom Biking” episode of the “Coast-to-Coast” podcast that I co-host with Cris Sommer-Simmons, but most of the show was given up to two incredible custom motorcycle builders, J Shia and Sofi Tsingos.

Gloria Struck recently had her 95th birthday, so just to keep the accolades rolling, I want to wish her an incredible belated happy-happy birthday and add to everyone else’s praises as to how wonderful this woman is. 

Rhett Holley’s Root Beer Float that he built for/with Scott Peck is one beautiful machine. Starting life as a 1975 Superglide, he and Scott Peck, the customer that commissioned the bike and helped with much of the build, found this Shovelhead in a barn with the front wheel sticking through a hole outside the barn.

I've made some positive changes to the upcoming Sturgis Motorcycles as Art Exhibition! We had a great Cycle Source Shoptalk podcast last night with 4 of the 38 builders in this year's Sturgis “Heavy Mettle - Motorcycles and Art with Moxie” exhibition at the Buffalo Chip. It now has the qualifier "UNLOCKED EDITION"
