File: 1036 Burning bike.jpg
Description: In the mid-1980's, with a lagging economy and Harley-Davidson having just come out of near bankruptcy, bikers were even more sensitive than they are now about Japanese bikes here in the states. There were T-shirts, pins and bumper stickers with anti-Japanese slogans and then there were the bike bashes where, for a buck, you could take a sledgehammer to a Japanese bike and take out your aggressions on it. The bikes were usually burned when people got tired of bashing them. This one here was hung by a noose and torched at the same time.
