Biktoberfest was first held in 1992. It is one of those fabricated events that took off and works. 2002 marks it’s 10th anniversary and I can say now that it has become a great event, and for some people, even better than bike week in March.
Biktoberfest is like a mini bike week. It is officially scheduled for four days beginning on the 3rd Thursday of October and ending on that Sunday. It is much less crowded than bike week but still, there are plenty of bikes (more than most events.) It is easier to get around town, out to the Iron Horse and Broken Spoke in Ormond or just out for rides. Otherwise it is very much the same, just condensed. If you think it is hard to see everything during bike week, try to do it in four days! At least you won’t be stuck in traffic.
Another great thing about Biktoberfest is that in my experience there, I have had great weather. There are hints of in the rest of the country but in Daytona this time of year, at least the last few years, it has been perfect.
