In the mid-1980's, the US economy was lagging and Harley-Davidson had just come out of near bankruptcy. There were T-shirts, pins and bumper stickers with anti-Japanese slogans and bike bashes where, for a buck, you could take a sledgehammer to a Honda to take out your aggressions. After they got tired of banging this one, it was hung it by a noose and torched.
